    Poem Commentary

Inspired to write my first childrens poem because of my 7 year old grandaughter. She had a school assignment to make up her own land with language, landforms and animals.  I used her make believe land and put it in poetic form.

    Dolphinland

    In DolphinLand I must say,
    Children are happy everyday.
They speak the language of Gobbly-goo,
Which to them means I Love You!

The rivers there are fruit punch,
    Lunch consists of popcorn crunch.
Chocolate mountains are easy to climb,
Which to them is quite sublime!

In the air they ride the unicorn,
hanging their coats on the horn.
    Dolphins are the only way
    To glide along the waterway!

    Living such a happy life,
    Without care, without strife.
In DolphinLand I want to stay,
So I can dream my cares away!

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
