    Desire

This burning desire lies inside of me,
Simmering like a pot of stew inside of my body.
Yearning to break through to the surface like a beautiful rose
and connect like a jig saw puzzle on purpose I suppose.
    It’s brazen and untamed
    and comes sporadically.
Sensations creep up all over me.
It puts shivers up and down my spine
I swear I’ve been through this a thousand times.
Gets worse with every glass of wine
Perhaps it will subside in time.
