Death of a Friend
Life seems too tough for some
Living from day to day on the job
Working for seven days straight
Just to get a good money pay
You ask yourself if it’s worth all this
Sure it is, "I like money", you say
"You can work yourself to death", people say
But you don’t care as long as you get that pay check
You’re in and out of the hospital like clockwork
All because of smoking and too much stress
Stress can cause a lot of things to go wrong
In your brain, heart, stomach, or kidneys
Death is very hard to get by
Because you’re never prepared for a
Loved one to die
When it happens, it seems as though
No one can really understand your hidden tears
Or truly see what you know, learned, and fear
When they’re gone, you’ll see it ain’t no turning back
When the doctors come out and say “I’m sorry
But she’s not gonna make it through the night”
Now you tell me how the hell you know
She’s not gonna make it without a fight
There’s only one thing that I hope and pray
That she made everything right with her Maker
Before she finally learns to fly
