    Created for Good Works

Sometimes we wonder why we were created.
And then we read the chapter of Proverbs 31.
There are so many good works that we can do,
We can be the happiest people under the sun.

The deeds we do for neighbors, family and friends
Are always restored unto us one-hundred fold.
For what we do for these, we do for the Father.
And He blesses us with love that can never be told.

I could never list all the things that we can do.
But if we listen to our hearts then we will know.
If we've gleaned from the teaching of the older women,
We'll know how to love, care and cook and sew.

Won't it be wonderful, at the end of your life
For Jesus to say we've been faithful and good?
To hear our children "rise up and call us blessed?
And for all to say, "she hath done what she could".

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
