Circles of the Heart

Poem Commentary

When I was 12 my Grandfather told me I would one day find a great man, and me and this man would achieve wonderous things together.
Unfortunately he didn't give me a time  frame.
I met my first husband when I was 19 and I spent 16 yrs trying to achieve wonderous things with him- I did make 3 great kids!
Husband #2 was a two week wonder.
Husband #3 was for four years. With him the closest I got to wonderous, was wonder, why did I marry him?
So, after three I quit.  Grandfather was a liar, and I was a failure.  Then one day I bumped into Kenneth.  We'd been bumping into one another for years, but never paid attention.  Ten days later we were married, and 3 years later we are quite literally achieving great things.  We own two newspapers, and have hit the powwow world with our drum like thunder searing across the sky...but that...is another poem!

Circles of the Heart

Circles in my heart go 'round and round...
beginning and ending never found.

Circles of the heart go 'round and 'round,
Throughout history love is found,
Romeo loved Juliet through and through-
Sampson loved Delilah, it's true.
All circles of the heart.

Circles of the heart of 'round and 'round...
Love passes through our life, rarely making a sound,
I kept searching the world just for you,
but love was sometimes confused.
Circles of the heart.

Circles of the heart go 'round and 'round...
Love has us tied up in knots, tightly wound,
How many times did we walk the same road,
yet our meeting failed to unfold.
Circles of the heart.

Circles of the heart go 'round and 'round...
perhaps from the beginning we were bound.
For once you wandered into my life,
it was as if fate had made me your wife.
Circles of the heart.

Circles of the heart go' round and 'round
now there are new circles to be found.
It took a long time, but once we let love in,
we knew it would never end.
The circles of the heart!

too few poets reach for this level of excellence, you are definitely one of the more underread poets on this site, this deserves a high place in anybodys list...you write from the heart, from what you know, from the place you came from and from you eventualy became...amazing, beautiful, when i read your poems i honestly dont want them to end...beautiful job...an eleven definitely from me
