Childrens Laughs
The children are laughing from afar,
The light in their eyes, a twinkling star.
The up turn of their mouth, the color in their cheeks,
My heart jumps, their happiness I too seek.
From the warmth I am feeling I soon realize the truth from within,
With each laugh they express, a smile on my lips will begin.
The simplicity of their expression and joy,
I realize they are happy and not coy.
To be a child once again and feel that freedom and ease,
The eagerness of living, the ability to tease.
Those days are long past as I remember my Youth,
Or are they ? I will contemplate this version of truth.
