    Childhood Nightmares

in this strange and scary world it's a wonder we all don't have more nightmares.
choking on silly eyes, baby can't roll the stone off of his tongue.
in this terrifying life there are snakes on the ceiling, machines in your closet.
they come visit you at night.
like thunder they whisper, they stay a while.
on this planet filled with fright puppets entertain on unknown hands from the shadows.
the devil found a good place to hide, in children's shows on saturday mornings.
