Child of Rain
A child of rain lies waiting,
like a bird on a fragile limb,
observing in fear gripped silence,
sensing the peril she's in;
As a somber shadow looms overhead,
lingering, lurking in latent harm,
while daylights vestige slowly fades,
and darkness blankets with open arms.
A child of rain lies waiting,
like sun drenched fallen snow,
disappearing as it slowly melts,
to the embankment far below;
only once again to be found,
quenching the sun parched earth,
glistening among the silver waters,
satisfying the ravenous thirst.
A child of rain lies waiting,
like a breeze that never survives,
knowing she's only halfway there,
yet sensing she'll never arrive;
also mindful there's no going back,
while hearing a faint song in the wind,
she sees that nothing lasts forever,
yet everything never ends.
like a bird on a fragile limb,
observing in fear gripped silence,
sensing the peril she's in;
As a somber shadow looms overhead,
lingering, lurking in latent harm,
while daylights vestige slowly fades,
and darkness blankets with open arms.
A child of rain lies waiting,
like sun drenched fallen snow,
disappearing as it slowly melts,
to the embankment far below;
only once again to be found,
quenching the sun parched earth,
glistening among the silver waters,
satisfying the ravenous thirst.
A child of rain lies waiting,
like a breeze that never survives,
knowing she's only halfway there,
yet sensing she'll never arrive;
also mindful there's no going back,
while hearing a faint song in the wind,
she sees that nothing lasts forever,
yet everything never ends.
