Chasm

Why do you have to see me/ When I am trying to hide/ Why can you not let me pretend/ That you don’t see what’s inside/ Can’t you hear the torrent/ The vacuum unalloyed/ The pressure pulling you closer/ The constant sucking void/ Run while you still can/ Get far far away/ I will eat your soul / If you choose to stay/ Take this as a warning/ I love you with all that’s in me/ That should surely scare you/ To know what can truly be/ So once I finally have you/ I will never let go/ You will get lost in me/ And you will never know.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
