    Can't Take Away

Many People say what they want to say to be heard
I speak because that’s what my heart tells me.
My heart thinks of lonely times, when my mind tries to break from it
When I look and see the things that I have been through and accomplished in my life
    I feel not much
My tears I cry now are from not being hurt, but
    From judgment from the opposite.
I linger from cries because I grow tired from it
Why should my heart have pain when yours is full of pride, doubts, and no cares of the matter, but I tell this not another day will I have hell in my eyes or soak in the brimstone you try to bury me in. Today is my day, the day I made.
    Nevermore will it hurt
Nevermore will it suffer, Nevermore any feelings that I have.
This picture, which is perfect, is my perfect picture.
This picture I have cannot be taken.
For it is mine for the keeping.

    Perfectly stated, beautifully written.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
