Breath
Life is like a box of chocolate
and as I push a square peg into this round hole
I take another bite
of the only life I've ever known
Planted tree's creating feeding frenzies
nurished by toxic fruit
So I breath in deep
clearing my lungs
I've learned to play it safe
it has earned me a prime seat to watch
as others eat their 5 course meal
faded pictures of dreams long gone
And as the wind blows
carrying away hopes and dreams
I take another bite to mask the pain
Strong roots grow deep
and with outstretched arms
I reach to consume freedom
My lips hungers for a world beyond
my habitual connection of sameness
My journey begins with a soft whisper
taking flight
wind guiding
destination unknown
