Beauty in the Arriving Storm
Busy in my doings, I hadn’t yet noticed the changing sun
When out a glassy pane I peered, I saw a wondrous fun
The evening sun had turned the sky to a passing pillowy-pink
With purple hews, the clouds flowed in such an elegant sync
The wind at a fury, a changing sky would be missed in a blink
The winds grew stronger, moving rapidly I began to think
I thought of my camera, I said aloud, this picture I had to take
For all to see this awesome solar display is real, not fake
All the signs proved a following storm now moments away
It forges on steadily, all in its’ path await not to go astray
Praying to God, this storm won’t be as bad as a blizzard
Which in this land and others, is a worst kind of hazard
Still, everyone must stay home and off the streets and roads
A snow day for all non-essential workers, schools are closed
Plows plowing and ever quickly spreading salt and sand
Try to keep the streets open and safer so’s noone to strand
