As I Stare Into The Still Of The Night

As I Stare Into The Still Of The Night

my heart stumbles a step or two
as I stare
into the still of the night
all around me is obscured
beyond recognition
for I am focused on
the placement of the moonlight
it's powerful ora
overpowers the abyss
surrounding the eerie sea
enticing to the eyes enough to
keep blinkage from continuing
darkness happily part
as the twilight takes its path
like a king who walks
through his courtyard
the night respectfully bowed gracefully
as I stare
into the still of the night
I'm deeply moved
by the water's darkened mascara
it runs for the cries of the mourned
tugs at my chest
unveiling last wishes before their death
I cry for the things wished for was simple
small and minute to the ones they loved
complex... too large and too much
to be granted
so they now rest not in peace
but cry only to me
for they only wanted
to be loved by thee
as I stare
in the still of the night
