    AN UNSEEN SMILE

THE SMILES I HAVE ARE MILES AWAY
I WANT TO FIND JUST ONE TODAY
FOR YOU I'LL TRY SO VERY HARD
    AND SMILE ONCE, WITHOUT FACADE
BECAUSE YOU CARE THE WAY YOU DO
THIS SMILE I DEDICATE TO YOU
LIMP AND LIFELESS IS HOW I FEEL
WITH EACH DAY SEEMING SO SURREAL
BUT ONE THING ALWAYS REMAINS TRUE
THE FACT THAT I LOVE ALL OF YOU.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
