“DAMAGED”
AS I LIE HERE MY EARTHLY BODY BROKEN AND BLEEDING ON THE GROUND. THIS IS THE END RESULT OF MY LIFE THAT CAME UNWOUND.
PICTURES AND IMAGES OF MY WORLD THAT ONCE EXISTED, NOW VISIONS OF MY USED TO BE LIFE WITH YOU ARE NOW COMPLETELY TWISTED.
INTO SOMETHING I CAN’T RECOGNIZE, CAN’T BEAR TO FACE MYSELF OR TO LOOK INTO YOUR EYES. I SEE THE PAIN AND HURT SWIMMING IN THOSE POOLS OF GREEN. HOW SELFISH AND CRUEL OVER THE YEARS I’VE BEEN TO YOU.
I CANT CHANGE MY HEART I CANT CHANGE MY MIND. SO I JUST HAVE TO LEARN TO LIVE WITH THIS EMPTY LIFE THATS LEFT BEHIND.
YOU DIDN’T TRY TO HEAR, YOU DIDN’T TRY TO SEE--- YOU STOOD THERE STARING RIGHT THROUGH THE TEARDROPS LIKE THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT OF ME.
NOTHING BUT SORROW, NOTHING BUT PAIN-- NOTHING BUT MEMORIES THAT WHISPER YOUR NAME. NOTHING BUT SADNESS DWELLS IN THIS HEART OF MINE-- NOTHING TO DO BUT WAIT-- MAYBE IT’LL HEAL IN TIME.
BRIDGES WERE BURNED-- LESSONS WERE LEARNED-- PROMISES BOTH OF US MADE WERE QUICKLY BROKEN. TENDER LIES SOFTLY SPOKEN. ALL THESE THINGS MADE US WHO WE ARE TODAY. I WONDER NOW HAD I JUST STAYED. TRIED TO WORK IT OUT, TRIED TO MAKE IT BETTER. WE’D REPAIR OUR LOVE THAT USED TO HAVE THE STRENGTH TO STAND ANY WEATHER.
