A walk in the snow

A walk in the snow

As I peer out of the window looking at the dark clouds, I am overcome by my loneliness.

A reminder of those I lost.

Suddenly a chill came across my body as the first snowflake fell.

I watched as the air became white, and the frost fell across the ground.

The first virgin snow never touched, I stood there and watched.

I gathered my heavy wool coat, my gloves and headed out into the night.

As I walked through the snow, I saw the beauty of the first fall.

The snowflakes sparkled against the moonlight sky.

My breath became heavy as I began to cry.

The memories that snow brought, I realized, how much I missed the moments I shared in those days gone by.

I stopped for a time to reflect on my thoughts; it came upon me, it was in those times, I value the most.

My heart filled with warmth and my head held toward the sky, I gave thanks to all those that were put in my life.

A walk through the snow is nature’s way of letting us know, we are never alone.

Spectacular! Conjures up feelings of another time when I felt walking in the snow, or right before the snowfall brought a great sense of peace.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
