    A Sunny Day

    When I look outside
    on a sunny day
    upon the sun's
    benevolent rays,

    I see a sun
    that is so far
    yet it is here
    where we are.

    I see benevolent
    rays of light
    that leaves darkness
    in its plight.

    On sunny days
    I like to run
    and work outside
    and have fun.

    But the thing I love
    most of all
    is time with my family
    one and all.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
