A SIMPLE SEED

IF I WAS A SEED....
I WOULDN'T GROW BECAUSE THERES IS ME LIFE NO MORE BUT
SHHH...
NO ONE IS SUPPOSE TO KNOW AN HELL AS THEY SAY THATS HOW LIFE GOES....
ALL I KNOW IS FROM A SEED I DIDN'T GROW.
INDEED I THINK I WAS GROWING AS A WILD WEED
I GUESS THATS WHY I AM ALWAYS CRYING
CAUSE I AM NOT WHAT ANYONE NEED
NOW MY LIFE IS THE SIZE OF A BEAD
I FEEL SO SMALL
WHAT HAPPEN HOW DID I FALL
I USE TO BE 10 FEET TALL
AS HIGH AS THE GREAT CHINA WALL
I HAD IT ALL
LIKE CINDERELLA AT THE GREAT BALL
NOW ALL I DO IS CRY AND BAWL
AND ASK GOD WHY, I NEED TO KNOW CAUSE I AM READY TO DIE AND THIS IS NO LIE.

I SURE HOPE MY PRESSENCE YOU WILL MISS AND NEVER BE FORGOTTEN LIKE YOUR FIRST KISS.

This was excellent - for a seed that didn't want to grow knowing it's fate would be death after climbing to great heights in life - no really knowing the outcome... KD

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
