    A Rose Bush For Mom

Mom this Rose Bush is for you
    Petals of bloo red. Thorns
That prick like needles. The smell like
    Ever lasting love.
When I see a Rose, it makes me think
Of you. How i miss you so much. I
Love you. Here is your Rose Bush
That no one gave you until now.
    It seems like only yesterday
That I could look at you and see
Your smile, when I look at
    A Rose Bush I see
    Your  smile.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF KAREN LYNN PAYNE PARKS

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
