A Negative Exsposed

Between the mirror on the wall and the disposable camera
there we stood
A puppet and her master.
Clothes draped properly over our bodies
with a hair one not out of place.
Fake smiles helped
in creating our barbie like exteriors.
Standing straight, hands clutched behind our backs,
every detail mattered.
A model citizen and his perfect daughter
happy, normal, active it in the community.
Getting ready for a father-daughter dance
and documenting every moment before hand.
Image was everything!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
