A LEGEND MADE

These are the days
That true legends are made
When drug free lives
We would not trade

For I've looked around
I've seen the pain
I've felt the heartaches
As they drop like rain

I've seen mothers suffer
Because their sons were hooked
I've seen fathers break down
Because their daughters' life got took

So today I stand
A true legend made
A drug free life
I will never trade

i have had alot of personal experience with addicted family members, one of them being my mother. she herself is a true legend made, this poem is very touching, and only those once enraptured, or immediately on the outside, yet still effected, can understand the pain and triumph alike. I am very proud of you. You are a legend. thankyou for sharing ur poem of greatness

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
