    Poem Commentary

This poem was written after meeting my husband.

    A Lasting Love

    Once long ago in a
    young womans past,
she thought there was no chance
for a Love that would last.

    She tried many times,
but all were just a ruse,
    all she could find was
    heartache and abuse.

    Just when she thought
    she would try no more,
    a man came along and
    she was loved and adored.

    He treats her like gold,
    she feels like a Queen,
    one day they will marry
and be Mr. and Mrs. Green.
