    a hidden past

Angry steel into a fading vein
You try and try to numb the pain
Of a world gone bad, it’s not the same
When you started out you knew this game

A mind beset by demons feared…
They took control and feelings steered
And now you see through smoky glass
The times you wasted forever past

I searched for meaning in my falling tears
I tried to regain those missing years
Now I see as plain as day….
Exactly where I lost my way

    However, sadly, I must confess
For the wicked now there’s never rest
I’m cursed to wish and wait and wonder
As I listen to distant thunder…
    Once again the feeling grows
From day to day my knowledge grows
That to go without, requires strength unknown
    I guess I’m forced to go alone…

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
