You look like a million dollars

You look like a million dollars
    when i see her
    i see beauty personified
    let's look at her hair
    i can't help but stare
    if beauty was felony
you would've been on death row by now
is it her elegance;the way she walks
or her speech;the way she talks
i can go on and on
but the saying that the beautiful ones are not yet born
    doesn't make sense
i mean, i could use you as evidence!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
