    WOUNDED HEART

    Pains in the heart
Shivers and sighs in the mind
    Sorrow as a companion and
    Tragedy as a witness, Thinks
Good but acts evil, no consoler
Evil beckons evil, felt pain all
    Over but no one around
    Intimidated in the process
    Of been good, disguised just
For the sake of not been
    Disgusted, prays always but
    Found prayers stood still.
    Tortured but felt no pains
What is that suppose to be
A human flesh or wall? None!
Just mastered with the pain and
    Torture because the pain has
    Been constant, thinking of
    Survival is like thinking a
    Cook will ever grow horns.
    Wounded heart gushes out
    Blood and tears, dying instantly
Is what I wished next but death
Never knew me by name, soon
I hope to see a brighter sun, no!
    I mean a brighter moon
Because the sun will be too hot.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
