    Winter

                            Streets of the city glow in the winter light.
                            The white and broken sky drips snowflakes.
                            And fountains are frozen with white ice.
                            Where is the well of fire, where are the warm Springs?

                            A faint red glow is shed by the feet of the Sun.
                            The rhymn and rhythmn slowly melts from open lips.
                            Rare warm airs try to drive away the winter;
                            The long nights never end, the days grow short.
                            When will winter end?

    It can be a time to sing the blues for sure. I have little to complain about with winter this year however. We simply haven't had much of it where I am. Now normally we tend to hoard a whole lot of it north of the border. This extraordinary season Father nature seems to think middle America isn't doing enough to promote winter sports. Hence the white opulence in places such as Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Now, normally you could blame it on the Canadian cold fronts. Not so this time because the culprit is the Jet stream. Seems like only yesterday that we never even had one. We could wish that it never got invented yet it seems to bring good as well as bad. I live among the skyscrapers in downtown Toronto and we never even had the snow trucks out this year. Funny season. Good descriptors in your writing. Very thoughtful However I do get the impression that - like a lot of folks you were taught early to fear the words ...rhythm & rhyme If use Firefox on your system, leaving spell check on, it can be a great plus.

    Thank you and finally the weather is turning to Spring.

    Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
