    WHY?

A white stone on green grass --
    Nature put it there.
    Do you know Why?

Stars in the night sky --
    Nature put them there.
    Do you know Why?

Living life here and now --
    Nature put you here.
    Do you know Why?

Resting amongst these trees in the woods --
    Nature put me here.
    Do I know Why?

Being the tree, being the sky, being the sun,
    Being myself.
Once the question “Why” has been sacrificed
    Everything is known.

I enjoyed this poem. I, too believe in destiny and that everything happens for a reason. I like it.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
