Where the Ferns and Flowers Wave, Revisited
Where the Ferns and Flowers Wave, Revisited
By Dale Garrow
I returned to explore
Once more
The lush of nature
Having been ignored
All these days
Where the ferns and flowers waved.
Wild bird on the banks of the winding stream
And above me on branches of various trees
Peeking through leaves in bliss
For once I’m the outsider
Looking within
Wanting to be a part of all this.
Slowly I walk about
To absorb what I can see
And the smells
To read the signs
Of life within this wood
Where just moments had passed
A rabbit stood.
I entered the wood with anxiety
From the hectic pace of life
Unaware of the sacrifice
One has to make
But as I traveled down the path
A calm passed through
At ease I am once again
Where the ferns and flowers wave.
