    What Kind of Man

You said you would love me as long as you were alive.
    Well you have not died,
So I guess that was just a lie.
You chose her and drugs over me and the rest of the family.
What kind of man does that show you to be?
Certainly not one that is trustworthy.
When I needed a dad im sad to say,
You were never there for me,
Not even by the end of the day.
You never encouraged me to accomplish what I wanted to.
    When mom left,
It was because she couldn't stand you.
You say you want her back,
But you show me differently in the way you act.
I hoped a light bulb would go off inside your head to remind you of what you have,
But instead you turned your head the opposite way like you did everyday.
So what kind of man are you?
    Let me tell you.
You're a man whose kids never want to see you again.
I don't want to feel this way towards you,
    But it was your choice.
Now I have to find some kind of rejoice.

I can understand why in this point in your life you say you're hating. Sounds more like frustration, disgust and the quest for the seldom answered question why are you treating us like this? When and if you do start to hate, you won't even use your talent to reprimand people. Drugs can turn people into strangers and until they are out of that person's life all you have is just a sad caricature of what could have been. God bless, you're going to be just fine.

Family, we can't pick them. But hopefully in time, things change, forgiveness is sought, and to forgiveness can be granted. (GP)

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
