What is The Rest?
This question which evokes a thought
Has answers that may save a soul
A peace of mind is often sought
To fully seek this lofty goal
Though clearness sits upon a star
And far away it seems to stare
These lonely looks it gives from far
When sitting high above the air
It's so elusive, like a whim
But sweet it is when it is near
These questions seem to form again
For life, it seems, is never clear
For decks are always stacked against
And courage never stills the fear
This life inflicts with no defense
And courage sleeps inside a tear
But more than pain and lesser bliss
And less than hell and northern space
It's more than all of that and this
It's what we feel when feeling grace
So kneel thee down for one more prayer
Then cross the hands across the chest
But lay him down your sould to bear
And when you die, you'll get the rest
Has answers that may save a soul
A peace of mind is often sought
To fully seek this lofty goal
Though clearness sits upon a star
And far away it seems to stare
These lonely looks it gives from far
When sitting high above the air
It's so elusive, like a whim
But sweet it is when it is near
These questions seem to form again
For life, it seems, is never clear
For decks are always stacked against
And courage never stills the fear
This life inflicts with no defense
And courage sleeps inside a tear
But more than pain and lesser bliss
And less than hell and northern space
It's more than all of that and this
It's what we feel when feeling grace
So kneel thee down for one more prayer
Then cross the hands across the chest
But lay him down your sould to bear
And when you die, you'll get the rest
