Weakness for Laughter

Weakness for Laughter

If you understood
the strength needed
to call up a smile
a little smile
just something, to pick up
the sides of your lips
light the fire needed
in your eyes, to see without gloom
you'd realize
though it looks so easy to you
for me to to do what I do
is not easy
inside I hurt
why make myself feel bad
who tries to be sad
I don't want to be unhappy
okay I will take the blame
prosecute me to the fullest extent
it will shame, me
I laugh to escape lament
and tears
if this is a weakness
then thats what it will be
but weak in the need for affection
not weak from tears crying
I have a soft spot
for laughing, being happy
and smiling
okay its a weakness
but in that fact I am strong
the strength to do it
is not weakness
the word choice is wrong
