    Poem Commentary

    Its about my mom

    Watching

    I stand in your room.

    Watching you,

    Watching your every breath

    Wishing you were okay.

    Knowing your not.

    You look over at me

    And take your last breath,

    I fall to the ground

    and scream to the sky

    WHY?

    You were my best friend.

    My hero.

    Now your gone,

and my hearts filled with sorrow,

You were there for me when I needed you the most.

now your gone, who do I have other than myself?

family.? no...there is no family without you.

    I stand here in tears,

    watching you.

    watching them. watching them cry,

no one seems to hurt as bad as I.

Mom, you were my best friend.

the only one I could count on.

    the one I could trust.

you sang me amazing grace when I was young,

it is the song forever in my heart.

you brought me up in a Christian home.

    taught me the golden rule.

I grew up and thoughts with me to school.

I remember the days of staying home with you to never wanting to leave your
    side.

    your watching me.

    watching me breath.

    watching me live

    watching me grow.

    when you were here,

I could hear you prayers at night, but I couldn't feel your pain,

you hurt so bad, but your gone, to a better place now.

Away from the pain. into the arms of our father.

You wanted to see me reach 18 but you were taken before then.

It was your time, I still watched you.

I watched the angel of death take you, I prayed to God to take me instead. to let me have the pain, to let you stay alive to see your grandchildren grow.

I watched you suffer, and when the angel of death came, I saw the peace in your eyes. I watched him, take you away, take you away out the window.

I watched you, cry I watched you scream I watched you suffer, but I couldn't watch you be laid to rest.

You were my best friend, I watched you grow. and you watched me to. and your watching me now as i look up to the sky and say i love you.

Oh Lovedeeply...I am truly sorry for your loss. The passion in which you wrote it is so vivid. Each line offered so much reflection. It is sad, yet inspirational to know that the legend continues. God bless~

this makes me want to reach out and give u a big hug...the death of a loved one is always the hardest to deal with especially when its a parent!!! your words were beautifully put!

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
