    War

    All is lost,
    the end is near.
    The last thing left
    is to shed a tear.

    The children left
    are hurt more
    than the terrible people
    who started this war.

    Parents and friends
    are lost to death,
    as they give out their
    one last breath.

    Anger and hatered
    is what started it all,
    but thousands more
    will share the fall.

    "We cannot give up"
    is what they say,
    but even they will
    be gone one day.

    Officials are just
    sitting about,
    they will not know
    of the soldier's doubt.

    The only thing left
    is to stop this war,
so no one can be hurt
    anymore.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
