Want

He holds my emotions in his hand and juggles them as if I am a game to be played.
He gives me small amounts of hope and quickly takes them away with simple silence.
He encourages me to hold on showing me signs of want and desire.
He knows what he wants but is afraid that he is not enough.
He struggles to find himself but desires a better life.
He uses his past as a reason to not make “me” his future.
He constantly closes my door yet he cannot bring himself to let go.
He wants me in his life but his fear of hurting me restrains him from moving forward.
He thinks he knows how I feel yet he Has No Idea!
He doesn’t know I understand him more than he wants me to.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
