WALK OF LIFE
I am running backwards trying to reach my destiny
With my eyes wide shut the many obstacles of life confront me
Journeying through the streets within the world
I am faced by the father’s brother’s sons on the corner
Out there discussing their shoulda coulda wouldas
Saying, “you have time sunflower”
Telling of their pain and suffering coming from their women,
The wars, and mothers
My mother
Such a beautiful individual doing what she desired not what she had to for me
Because of what was put through her by her ancestors I am privileged
Privileged to talk giving good words and walk with sass
Think how I want to be and being able to do so
Giving the ability to flow boundlessly
No one can touch this sunshine of my life
Shining on me so that I have a future
