    Vixens

Walking into the bar that night
    Young vixens all around
The one that caught my eye that night
She didnt want to be found
I looked into her eyes just once
She was just a glance away
Her eyes told a different story
    A story that had betray
    Sitting down beside this vixen
    I tried to say hello
She didnt want to talk to anyone
    But
    Kindly let it go
Buying her a drink that night
    Hoping to ease her pain
    Listening to the world outside
It thundered and began to rain
She told me the problem she had that night
    Her man had went astray
She loved this man with all her heart
    This man she couldnt betray
    Being a friend
    If only just once
    There was only one thing
    I could say
How can you say you love a man like that
When you know he just betrays
    Drink your drink
    Hang with your friends
    The ones you like today
    And know that later
    You will find that man
    That takes your breath away

great prose flow - if I might suggest - adjusting the tense in the line her man had went astray - to gone astray?

    break through channels. /nice write

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
