    valentine days

    I think of Valentine's day
as a week that is a dream

    Valentine Days

We open our book and read:

    The Season of Love
    begins our Valentine Days
A week spent in simple ways
    light as a fairy
    on gossamer wings
    We fly

    Monday
    we sit and sew and
    make our cards
    For Valentine
the ones near and dear to us

    Tuesday
    we prepare
    some light refreshment
    some tea and cake
    for Valentine
    Dear to us

    Wednesday
    we Sing and Dance
    done with our cake
    we walk thru the Glade
    and whisper to Valentine

    Thursday
    we write our Poems
    our lines, our Sonnets
    For those near and dear
    for Valentine

    Friday
    we give our cards
    sewn and sweet and secret
    To friend Valentine

    Saturday
    Happy Valentine's Day

    Sunday
    Now we close our Book
    For these were our
    Valentine Days.

Good poem! I like the valentines week story. I like the dream and I like how you made the valentines cards.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
