Poem Commentary

Bear with me on this long journey, as I try to take you to a place of how it was, what happend and how it can be.

UNMASKING THE PAIN

I invite you to come with me and go back, back, back in the past
revealing the works of things that didn't last.

For me... The year 1969
The essence of the anointing perfumed the place, with a sweet fragrance
pleasant and inviting.  Pianto playing, drums beating, tambourines shaking
hands clapping, feet stumping, filled with singing, shouting and crying words
of thank you flowing everywhere. Surely the presence of God, is here.
Then out the mouth of a man dress in a black robe, proclaiming God, so
loved the world, he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him
shall not die, but have everlasting life, and you must be born again.
Then called people to be baptize.

So here I am with no clue, as of what to do, because of what's seen in between
These people that I know talk and sang, about the storm and the rain then went home to pain. still say heaven's sweet then get beat.
Lord, help me see, I don't understand all of this to love a man.
Imagination gone wild, for here I am, I am a child in a confused state
of love and hate.

Now let's go forward, forward in time out of the year 1969
To the year I thought was mine, because of a boy who made my light shine.
He became my everything, so it seemed, cause all I do is dream.
He's my world, no more being just a church girl.

Disobedient, rebellious and even resentful, self respect went out the window.
Life right now is grand, it's all about my man. can't they understand?
Why do I have to fuss and fight, I know what's wrong, I know what's right
but I'm on a flight, flowing on cloud nine.
In a fairytale fantasy that every girl dream, married and haveing a family
with all the trimmings, you know the house with the white picket fence
Big back yard, where the kids run and play. even a family dog.
Your palace where he's king, your queen, the long talks at night, dinner by candle
light, and making love all night.  got to admit all wrap up and love struck.

Hope someone can identify, we all got caught in that lie

You soon find out life not so sweet, when the one you love lie and cheat
then beat you for his deceit.
You feel betrayed and deceived, used then abused. your distraught
you wish you can start over again, cause now you realize you can't win.
Full of hurt, pain and shame, you don't understand, all of this to love a man
Another state of love and hate.

Here we are in the present
We view the storm, with thunders of hurt, tears of pain that pour like rain.
Lightning illuminate the past, now we face the task of removing the mask.

To release this taunting disguise, I lift my head to the sky.
For how do you heal when your whole world is ill.

Some find the solution in other relationships where we don't get to deeply
involved, some become workaholic, alcoholic or drug addicted.
Depressed and self blameing and violent.  Some have taken thier lives
others intertain the thought. I asked myself have you forgot what
was taught.

That took hold of me, with tears in my eyes I went to the place I hide cried out to the lord, I don't understand all of this to love a man

Then he asked... " Do you love me "
It's not about what you see, It's about you and me.

Then answered... " Yes "
all of this to love a man, for here I stand with outstretched hands.

wonderflow flow. at first i was wondering if the lines were the usual flow then i was caught in the pain of deceipt, illusion and world built of nothing but veiled with a thick mask full of nothing. How the life of love is treated up-side down like the two side of a coin. Then you met the master you love who unveil the lie u lived in.... I love this poem. Its so real, I was moved to tears. Thanks for sharing.

Magical pure magic in every healing word. God is so good all the time. Someone said that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger but dying a thousand deaths is no picnic until that tine we reach out for the great healing and the great healer takes us in hand and we can say why it was here all along. Ladypooh, you child of God ,I love you and your poetry for what you've overcome and for what you're teaching the rest of us to overcome. be blessed forever in his presence my sister in Christ.
