    To Good to Last

You told me you loved me and needed me too.
Now what the hell am I going to do?

I gave you everything even my heart.
But you played me for a fool right from the start.

You compared our love to the stars in the sky.
Then you left without saying goodbye.

I feel so lost with nowhere to turn.
One of these days maybe I’ll learn.

You took our love and threw it away.
Now there’s a pain in my heart every day.

All I do is cry, sit around and wonder why.

I thought we were a perfect pair.
You broke my heart and don’t even care.

I fell for you to hard and too fast.
The whole thing was too good to last.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
