T'keyah the Princess

You didn't know that you were a princess.
It is in your blood and in the future, royalty
you will posses.
Many things Princess T’keyah and have your
hearts filled desires.
Just remember how you made it here and
HE sits higher.
All of the material things are nice, but
you are my biggest pearl.
God was really blessing me when he sent
you into my world.
I was so glad to finally meet you when you
were born.
Seeing your pretty face brought an end to
your Mom being scorned.
Thank you Lord God, because I feel that I
was blessed.
You gave me a Diamond, and I call her,
T’keyah my Little Princess.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
