    Thrust upon

    Thrust upon me without warning
    this anger swells within
I do not know from where it comes
I do not know how it will end

Thrust upon me on a cloudless day
when all should be so well
I wonder if on such a fine day
I should send myself to hell

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
