Thoughts In Time

THOUGHTS IN TIME

Tis the silence of the night embrace my thoughts

As I silently sit bathing under the softness

Of the moon.

Traces of winter is felt as the night breezes my ear.

Definite presence of spring lingers on

The flowers and trees.

My thoughts grow deeper into the night, dreams of

Children playing innocently beneath the towering

Testament of hopeless dreams manifest.

Nestled among the obscure debris of

Hatreds wake, brothers dignity shattered

As they suffer from (post traumatic slavery syndrome).

Broken unity

Forgotten struggles

Slavery manifest

As ancestors lay to rest

As the sun awakes from slumber,

Let thoughts of our venerable ancestors regenerate

Our unyielding commitment to reclaim greatness as a people.

A new dawn awaits prosperity, lament the past!

You have much skill Bobby..this is a strong piece.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
