The World Today As Seen Through My Eyes (A Freeverse)
Corruption is killing the world. As I see the various things that happen in society.
Kids with guns, babies with knives.
A 12 year old is believed when he threatens to take lives.
Children don't see much legit money being earned by their parents.
It's a struggle.
There was a time when gunshot sounds made headlines.
Very big news.
Why is it so normal now?
Rather then front page headliner, it's a small column or that is, if the story is ever reported.
School was a safe place to be.
But now learning facilities from elementary to college prove to be a life risk by going there everyday.
There are people with out jobs. The rich now beg for loose change.
People who once donated food to the shelters now eat of the very same free meals that they donated.
I see a strong distrust toward our government.
I see babies dieing at the hands of disease, ruthlessness, & stupidity.
They die at a much younger age than me and I'm only 17.
Sadly their parents have to deal with the shocking and very uneasy task of burying their child before their own time.
Just imagine the pain & the suffering. The tears and the blood shed.
What is the world coming to?
Drugs seem to be a modest living.
More and more legit jobs are shut down.
So much animosity toward one another.
Where is the love?
What happened?
Highly revered reverends condoning same sex relationships to flourish in the church?
Well-respected law officials involved in the drug trade?
Trusted, smiling politicians are lairs and cheaters, making light of the vows taken before God?
Our highest socially placed role models do the lowest of the dirtiest deeds.
So, what do we now?
What place is left for us to turn?
The darkest days are upon us, so it seems.
But fear not, for the one that we can always trust, the one that we can always depend on sits high above us.
And though confusion runs a muck, we can go to the highest power in the midst of it all.
The only thing we have to do is seek his help, trust and believe with your whole heart, and last, but not least, cast the first stone in making a great difference.
Be the change.
For, faith without works is dead and even the faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains.
There is hope.
Where do we look?
We look up, to him.
