the very air

the very air

darkness reigns
all around me
i close my eyes
so i can see
a light that shines
so intensely
from way deep down inside me

a power hums
inside my blood
it overtakes me
like a flood
it leaves me breathless
in my gut
on broken splintered legs

agape my mouth
no words i speak
aloud a cry
my song to keep
into the stars my heart does reach
as tender arms enfold me

the thrill i feel
is long and sweet
with every call
my heart does beat
i lift my hands
in sweet retreat
my Fathers love surrounds me

it lifts me high
when i am low
it has no boundaries
i know
His heart is soft
His strength is shown
in the very air around me

this is amazing and exactly how i feel. another beautifully written poem about our Lord and life and living.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
