the stories of yesterday

the stories of yesterday

Scream. Tear. Water.

He died two years ago today

A painful way to die, my love

Never will I touch water again.

Stain. Cry. Water.

I must clean the clothes

I can’t, I won’t

Never will I feel the pain again.

Splash. No. Water.

Remembering that day

Comes with a price

Never will I remember it again.

Boat. Calm. Water.

I can see his face

His hand reaching for me

Never will I restrain mine again.

Scared. Torn. Water.

Anger took over me

As I shook in tears

Never will I yell again.

Push. Help. Water.

Holding him under the water

It took an effort

Never will I kill again.

Guilt. Pain. Water.

Keeping a secret from you

Can’t always be easy

Never will I lie again.

Live. Gone. Water.

My dear friend, you

Know my story at last

Never will I tell it again.

Are you sure your only 16. This was remarkably well written. Very discriptive. Keep writing, I like your style.

thank you! and yes im 16 :)

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
