The Search Complete
Will I ever see you, touch you, smell your scentWill I know who you are when I meet you
Days go by as they always do
But one day changed, each said you are who?
I am the one who's been gone so long
Memories past and years ago
I was once your child wrapped in your arms
Now I'm grown wishing life would go slow
That fateful day when I rang that phone
A voice on the other side shouting
"it's my girl, this is my daughter"
Brought joy in my life I was ready to sing
The first call made was to my dad
Wondering what would unfold
I had to convince him of who I was
And then we shared moments all told
A few days passed and a phone rang again
This call was possibly my mother
Anticipation and racing thoughts
I was hoping it was not some one other.
Again I heard with shouts and cries
"This is my daughter ya hear?"
From that moment on my heart was full
And my mother wanted me near.
I knew I had found them deep in my heart
The one thing I've always wanted to do
No one could stop me, the words flowed right out
To each of them I said, "I LOVE YOU"
Both of my parents had finally been found
Once more to take part in my life
That old empty feeling was gone from my soul
I have a family, my children and wife.
