    The Relish

    With the sun behind the clouds fading
    And the breeze in the dusk blowing
    As your memories to me are carried
    Gradually this I realise
    As thoughts about you
    In my mind materialise.

    So soft your eyes blue
    To me are dearer than
    The distant skies away farther.
    Besides you as I lie
    I know now, of you
    I am no more shy.

    Light and carefree
    My heart so feels
    Slowly away my breath
    As you steal. The kiss;
    The touch of your lips’ oft’
    Their memory I drink in small sips.

    Our talk: your words
    In your absence I cherish.
    Wild your are not I know
    But certainly you are
    Playful and devilish
    As together the moments we relish.

    Your hair so smooth
    And soft against my cheeks I feel;
    By ecstasy overcome I am
    My fingers through them as I run
    Your face as I gently kiss
    With you I feel this solemn heavenly bliss.

    A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
