    The Plan

I yearn for the sweet bliss
found within the lips of a lover
a soft touch, a tender kiss
    playing tag down under
    and I wonder

I would love to love you
    but my heart checked out
    on the last train through
leaving the empty shell before you now
    and I hear the sound

    my Will is caving
    the Great Escape
    I'm tired of playing
kiss my neck right on the nape
and I run far and away

There are no gods where I am!
Here is where I make my stand!
I must walk the streets alone!
    I must follow the plan!

I liked this one it had a strong sense of longing almost twisted with the idea of following the plan you were meant to follow. a bit of a change from your darker pieces. I liked it. well done.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
