    The Lost Sail Boat

I am the lost sail boat at sea,
The power of oceanic vilet passion has engulfed my body and soul
The boundaries of my existence have shattered
    I feel a painful death .
You my love have died and I am now a dead star in the constellations of the sky.
I face a painful death that is terrifying
The petals of my body and soul have been torn a part.
Balls of anger, role down my spine, as I face a painful betrayal.
As I drive through the seductive blue tunnel of the early evening,
I remember how you passionately embraced me, and held me.
How we kissed for hours, and then you insulted me with your
    ugly words.
I gradually died a withered away like aduck or swallow who lost its feathers in a rainstorm.
My heart bled for years as the towering inferno of loneliness engulfed
    my body and soul.
The candle flame of my heart became extinguished, and I never again
experienced the passionate fervor of our love.
I have been suspended in a mystical haze where a blue black
aura wraps itself around me and guides me to the castle of destiny.
It is in this destiny that the inner beauty of my soul unravels,
and droplets of epiphanic vision fall on the petal of my cheeks!
Fallen vision. Revelation seeps its way through the tiny pores of my
olive skin and gently surrounds the iris of my eyes.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
