THE END

THE END

I rushed into it—carefully

But I thought I knew I could take the end.

It lasted an eternity -

A very short time!

We laughed and loved and cried and fought

But we never planned on the end.

It’s over now

And tomorrow it will be yesterday’s memory.

I remember saying, “Goodbye.”

But couldn’t admit it to myself.

THE END

Kind of reminds me of a bad breakup... of me and my ex... *sigh* this one is great :D

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
